Abstract Piriformis muscle is a muscle of gluteal region. The Piriformis syndrome is caused by compression of sciatic nerve by the muscle as it passes through sciatic notch. The pain of Piriformis syndrome is neuropathic and is often confused with pain of prolapsed intervertebral disc. We report a case of chronic pain of one and a half years treated by giving an ultrasound guided injection of local anaesthetic and steroid.
